Year 4 Weekly Highlights 26.05.22
It may have only been a 4 day week but we certainly packed a lot in!
The week began with 4P and 4S following 4CO's lead and making their Egyptian tabbouleh. The final dish looked very appetising, although some did reflect that perhaps next time they wouldn't add quite so much spice or lemon juice! We have also had some exciting history lessons this week with the children exploring ancient Egyptian artefacts and making inferences from them about this fascinating civilisation. The children were thrilled to be acting as real archaeologists and there was a real buzz as they investigated. In English, our Marcy unit is drawing to a close and we have been very impressed by the way the children have applied their grammar learning about fronted adverbials and complex sentences to their writing. Our maths unit continues with decimals, and is now just starting to move into hundredths. We also continue to practise our times tables - thank you to all those parents who are supporting their child with this important aspect of maths. Another area that we would appreciate some parental support with is that we are soon learning about time. Do you have an analogue clock in your house anywhere that the children can use to practise telling the time to the nearest minute? Finally, of course, our wonderful Jubilee afternoon - something the children will always remember. Thank you to everyone who supported - whether it was helping with cake making, attending the picnic or finding something red, white and blue to wear. Have a wonderful half term!
