Year 3 Highlights 18.3.22
This time last week it was pouring with rain and the Year 3 team together with the children were at Paultons Park exploring and experiencing forces and friction linked to their Science Unit. What a difference a week can make! This week has seen the children applying this knowledge to a class investigation.- Does the surface of a ramp affect the speed of a car?
In Maths, we have just finished our unit on Money where we have looked at addition and subtraction of money and the concept of change and how to calculate it using a number line. TTRS is 8x and the children are finding this rather tricky, so please support them in learning this where you can. Next week, we are looking at statistics and graphs.
In English the children are reporters for a local newspaper The Glossop Times and have been using open questions to glean information from Mr Jefferies and Mrs May. Enjoy asking opening questions to your children to learn more!
From Tuesday the Year 3 teachers are looking forward to hearing the children perform their poetry in class as part of our performance poetry competition. Please make sure the children have their poems and any props they may need in school.
Thank you so much. Happy weekend from the Year 3 Team
