Year 3 Highlights 29.4.22
Year 3 have returned happily to school and are enjoying our new topics for the Summer Term. We have started Victorian Portraits in Art and the children are learning pencil skills, shading and drawing in proportion. Armed with a photograph of their faces they had to study these carefully and follow a step by step guide to learn where to position eyes, the length of their nose, where their ears start and finish etc.
Our music lessons are linked to our new history unit The Romans and we listened to the Armed Man by Karl Jenkins. We were recapping music skills from the previous term to see if children could recognise instruments and describe a piece of music thinking about texture, rhythm, pitch and volume.
When the Crayons Quit is our first English unit of the new term. We are using this humorous book to explore letter writing with a persuasive tone.
In Maths we are continuing with length before moving on to perimeter. In our fluency starters we are beginning to include some clock times. Thank you for supporting the children in the telling of the time and recapping all the times tables learned so far x2 x3 x4 x5 x8 x10.
Enjoy the long weekend!
