Year 3 Weekly Highlights 7.3.25
Year 3 have continued to wow us this week with their enthusiasm and creativity across the curriculum!
In Reading, we have started our new book for this half term, The Lorax by Dr. Seuss. We have explored Dr. Seuss’s writing style, the types of books he has written and improving our reading fluency skills. We have learnt that Dr. Seuss uses nonsense words and rhyme as part of his writing style.
We are continuing to explore fractions in maths, with a focus on using bar models to communicate our ideas and explain our thoughts. Please continue to practise fractions in real life contexts at home and don’t forget those all important times tables on TTRS as this helps to create our groups in our fractions learning.
In English, we have had a buzz learning about bees! This week, we have explored the features of a bee, where they are located on a bee and why that feature is important for a bee. We have then applied our understanding to identifying why bees are important for our environment and the dangers that put some bees at risk.
What an incredible World Book Day we had in Year 3! We enjoyed dressing up as a book character or dressing comfy to read. Thank you for all the support at home with the reading competition set by Mrs Thomas. We really enjoyed looking at all the entries and creative ways that Year 3 have chosen to read!
We wish everyone a great weekend!
The Year 3 team.
