Year 3 Weekly Highlights 14.6.24
This week got off to a great start with our trip to Fishbourne Roman Palace as part of History learning. Year 3 explored what life would have been like living in the palace during the Roman period. We also got to take on the role of archaeologists exploring mosaics, the hypocaust system and artefacts in the museum!
Next week, we look forward to delving deeper into the life of Romans through our VR headsets!
In English, Year 3 have been building on their knowledge of adverbs and sentence starters to create fronted adverbials before applying them to the moment that Mount Vesuvius erupts!
Meanwhile, in our book, Wildsmith, we have developed our use of inference sums alongside skimming and scanning to independently retrieve evidence from the text to justify how Rowan and Grandpa are feeling.
In Science, Year 3 are investigating plants and we have all eagerly been watching our beans for their roots and shoots to develop during germination! Today we set up our own investigation to question how different factors impact plant growth.
We ended the week with the whole school poetry final. A big well done to all of Year 3 for rehearsing and performing their poems to their classes and congratulations to Olive, who was voted our year group winner!
Reminder that our Library session is next week - 3H and 3R on Monday and 3D on Tuesday.
We wish everyone a lovely weekend!
