Year 3 Weekly Highlights 3.5.24
We can’t believe that this week marks halfway through our new topic!
In English, Year 3 have worked on creating their own descriptions to accompany the Narnia film, described Mr Tumnus and pieced this together in a diary entry from Lucy’s point of view.
In Maths, we have worked practically with coins and notes to explore the most efficient ways to make values and represent this through our part whole models. Next week, we will focus on adding and subtracting values.
In Computing, we have drawn on our learning from the Iron Man to inspire our own animations and tested out the different ways we can use green screens to set and change the backgrounds for each frame.
Earlier in the week, it was great to make the most of our outdoor space in the sunshine, when stepping into our focus artist’s footsteps and sketching natural artefacts from our school grounds, looking closer at the details of our objects.
In Science, we have explored how we see, how light travels and how light behaves when it hits different materials through our own investigations. We have also created our own pictorial flashcards to help us understand the terms: reflective, transparent, translucent and opaque.
We wish everyone a lovely bank holiday weekend and look forward to celebrating everyone’s TTRS progress on Tuesday!
