Year 6 Weekly Highlights 19.1.24
What eventful week we have had in Year 6 this week. The children were lucky enough to have extra time at home!
Dyring maths lessons we have been improving our mathematical drawing skills by constructing triangles accurately using a protractor and ruler. Once the shapes were constructed, we applied our knowledge of area and perimeter to complete questions linked to them.
The children have been enthralled by our writing task this week. They have spent the week widening their language to show mood and character - they now embody the sea! Within this unit, they have realised how writing in a range of present tense (progressive, perfect and simple) brings action to life.
They are continuing to develop their knowledge of Everest and the trials and tribulations of climbing a mountain as immense as this. From our text , we have researched the childhood of Tenzing Norgay and Edmund Hillary. I wonder what our children's childhoods will lead them to achieve in the future? Have we got any budding climbers?
Have wonderful weekend.
