Year 6 Weekly Highlights 24.11.23
Our highlight of the week was having Mr Patchell come and share his wonderful pictures and videos of some of the volcanoes in Iceland. We were all enthralled by the breathtaking sights. A huge thank you to Mr Patchell for enriching our curriculum.
Year 6 have also enjoyed planning a persuasive letter regarding the treatment of children of the Windrush generation. We explored the use of colons and semicolons; we are now looking forward to writing our letters to Theresa May next week.
In RE, we began our unit on interpretation. Our first lesson explored the Buddhist story of the blind men, who each interpreted an elephant differently. We all enjoyed looking at visual illusions describing what we saw first! We have attached some illusions. What do you see first?
In our PE lessons this week, the children worked on their co-ordination skills. Even some of the teachers joined in showing off their skipping talents!
Have a wonderful weekend,
Year 6 team.
