Year 3 Weekly Highlights 22.9.23
Despite the change in weather this week, this has not dampened our learning spirits in Year 3!
We have enjoyed watching and reading the next instalment of The Barnabus Project - many gasps could be heard across the Year 3 area as the green suits appeared during the great escape!
We have also discussed a range of fairy tales and their features and had our big reveal with our new reading text - The true story of the three little pigs!
In Maths, we have been using dienes and our place value charts to partition and represent numbers to 1,000. We have had to be careful to use the correct mathematical vocabulary to explain our thinking and prove this with our resources. We are continuing to practise our multiplication and division facts for our 2s, 5s and 10s.
In Geography, we have continued to research our local area in preparation for our local walk next Wednesday. We have also begun to explore grid references to locate key geographical features.
In music, we have been creatively working together in small groups composing our own pieces of music, using notated rhythms.
3D had a very exciting visit from Miss Loosemore, Mrs Batten and Hugo this week. Miss Loosemore read one of her favourite books whilst Hugo had a good sniff!
We wish you all a great weekend!
