Year 4 Weekly Highlights 9.6.23
Another super week in year 4 land started with the launch of our new English unit , 'Emmanuel's Dream', based on the true story of a disabled boy living in Ghana who has a big dream to prove that disabled doesn't mean unable. This unit gives the children a brilliant opportunity to practise their empathy skills, which was also our focus on Thursday afternoon for 'Empathy Day'. On this day we explored the concept of empathy and the children practised empathetic listening. They also created some wonderful 'emotions maps' which you can see here. In maths, our geometry unit has continued with lines of symmetry and coordinates. Next week we plan to make a start on the exciting topic of decimals! In other topics, we have examined the role of food in different religious rituals, started learning street dance, investigated how living things can be classified and listened to lots of wonderful poems. Have a super weekend in the sunshine.
Best wishes,
The Year Four team
