Year 4 Weekly Highlights 25.5.23
Our half term is coming to an end and the children have really been working hard - they absolutely deserve a break next week!
Their writing in English this week has been incredible! They have really shown that they are able to put together all the writing skills they've been taught all year and their stories have been a joy to read. Simple, compound and complex sentences have been weaved together with their ability to describe characters' thoughts and feelings to produce some excellent adventure stories.
In Maths this week we've started our new Geometry topic and we've focused on the different types of triangles and their properties. Children have been sorting, labelling, drawing and measuring equilateral, isosceles, right-angled and scalene triangles.
In PDL we have all been learning about the risks and rules surrounding alcohol. The children have started to design posters to make clear their understanding of the risks of drinking too much and they have also explored when to recognise signs that someone needs help.
Lots of preparations have been underway for our Community Day tomorrow! We are looking forward to welcoming you all in to support our children singing songs representing a range of places across the world. Year 4 will be singing two Ghanaian songs. We hope you enjoy them!
Have a super half term, see you next month!
