Year 4 Weekly Highlights 10.2.23
It has been a great week in year 4, full of rich and varied experiences.Tuesday saw our visit to the mandir to enhance our study of 'sacred places' in RE. For most children, it was the first time they had experienced anything like this and, if the quality of the questions they asked is anything to go by, they found it fascinating. They were so interested and respectful - a real credit to the school.
Our maths topic of multiplication and division concluded this week with an opportunity for the children to show how much they had learnt and they impressed us with their recall and understanding. Next up is a short unit on area, followed by our favourite - fractions!
Also finishing this week was 'Malala's Magic Pencil' in reading lessons. The children have really enjoyed this book and responded so sensitively and thoughtfully to the issues raised. Kensuke's Kingdom and our discussion about whether Michael and his family should sail around the world will continue, however, after half term.
Finally, today has been make the Rules day and the year 4 classrooms are looking very colourful with children in their own clothes and with a variety of hair ornaments and tattoos. It is also uncharacteristically filled with fidgets and cuddly toys. It has been great fun having these in for the day, but please could they stay at home after half term and back to normal school uniform,
Wishing you a very restful half term break,
The Year 4 team
