Year 6 Weekly Highlights 18.11.22
This week has been jam-packed for year 6. We've done everything from long division to poetry to building coasts in our classrooms.
Year 6 have continued to study the Windrush in English, exploring how Leonard is feeling coming to England. Across Maths, the children have met long division and definitely felt the challenge, but they have been amazing at supporting each other with it.
The main part of the week, and the most exciting, was our geography work. We were very lucky to welcome 15 trainee teacher, who are geography specialists, to Hiltingbury to lead classroom coastal work. The children had a super afternoon with interactive experiences to extend their knowledge and vocabulary linked to coasts and then apply it to practically building one and discussing how it forms and then the impact this has on people. The children took away so much from the afternoon and we look forward to building on it in the next lesson. A huge thank you to the Winchester University students too.
We hope you have a lovely weekend.
