Consents required
At Hiltingbury Junior School we take the safeguarding of your child very seriously, and this includes images of pupils in school displays, publications, the school website and on the school social media page. This provides a good opportunity to celebrate the work of the children in school, particularly a school event such as a drama production, school trip/residential, celebration assembly or a school sporting event.
To comply with General Data Protection Regulations, we ask that parents’ consent to the school taking and using photographs, images and videos of their children. Any use of pupil images at Hiltingbury is underpinned by the following guidance:
• We will never use the full name of a pupil with or without a photograph
• We will not include personal e-mail or postal addresses, or telephone numbers on our website/ school social media site.
• We may use group or class photographs or footage with very general labels such as ‘a science lesson’.
• We may include pictures of pupils and teachers that have been drawn by the pupils.
• This consent is valid for five years from the date of submission, or for the period of time your child attends this school. The consent will automatically expire after this time.
• Your consent can be withdrawn at any time in writing.
