WOW! What a fantastic first week Year 3 have had!

This week in English, Year 3 have looked at the book 'Dear Teacher' where Michael has gone on different adventures to try and get out of going back to school. The children have all written their own letters to their teacher about an adventure they have gone on to avoid starting school on time. Ask your child about their adventure!

In maths, we have started our place value unit. We have been looking at adding tens and ones and recognising two-digit numbers using concrete resources. 

On Monday, we launched our 'Working Together' learning value that is being focused on this half-term. This involved the children thinking about how they could work as a team to be successful in a range of tasks. One of the favourite activities was the 'pen string' activity when the children had to work as a table to write a word without touching the pen!

One of the most exciting things to have happened this week was each class got to meet our school dog, Hugo! We have all had some time to meet Hugo in our classroom and ask some questions about him.
