Year 6 Weekly Highlights 9.9.22
What a wonderful first week back Year 6 has had. We started the week, like the rest of the school, launching the learning value of working together, giving us the opportunity to get to know each other and be a team. The children were challenged to write a word as a team, where the pen had a string attached to it for each member to hold. It was far trickier than they thought it would be!
We then started our geography and English topics. In geography, we started to look at our enquiry statement: 'Volcanoes are more dangerous than earthquakes.' To start with we have looked out why and how earthquakes and volcanoes happen, representing this with geographical images and biscuits. We then went on to find out about La Palma and its volcanic eruption from last year.
In English, we have started with looking at effective vocabulary to describe fantastic beasts. The children have told us how much they are looking forward to this English unit and the trip ahead.
Have a restful weekend Year 6!
