Year 4 Weekly Highlights 17.6.22
This week has seen an exciting development in the Shackleton story with the discovery that there was actually a stowaway on board! The children sat under the tables to try to empathise with Percy Blackborrow's conditions cramped in a locker on board. They quickly came to the conclusion that they would not have made a good stowaway, as they found it hard to stay still and silent for three minutes, never mind Percy's three days! This will now lead into writing a recount from Percy's point of view.
In maths we have now completed our decimal topic and the children have wowed us by showing everything they have learnt and understood. They have certainly come a long way since September when we started with a place value unit focusing on thousands. Now we move on to learning about time.
Our foundation lessons have covered a wide range of topics this week - learning about the stomach in science, examining the features of ancient civilisations in history, music lessons with ukuleles and glockenspiels and even Street dance with an Egyptian twist.
