Year 5 Highlights
|
In English, we have started to write our campaign posters on Plastic Pollution, children have been working really hard to include all the success criteria in their writing (colons in a list, emotive language). We have been really impressed how creative and imaginative the children have and taking on the role of David Attenborough. We can’t wait to write the top copy on Monday!
In Games and PE lessons, children have been working hard on their working together and teamwork skills. In Games, they have been learning how to become Sports Leaders and teach each other warm up games.
On Thursday, we had the pleasure of welcoming parents into our classrooms and joining in our reading lessons. It was a great afternoon and the children thoroughly enjoyed having their parents in and reading to them. Miss Chambers and Miss McCarthy were very impressed with the children’s behaviour and learning attitudes.
Continuing with our properties of materials unit in Science, we learnt and experimented how to select appropriate techniques to separate mixtures. Children had a go at filtering sand and water, soil and water, tea leaves and water and then recorded their results.
Happy weekend and only 1 week left until Easter holidays!
