Year 4 Weekly Highlights 6.12.24

Well it has been an hilarious week in Year 4 as 2 classes got pranked by our resident elf! Prunus got to school one day to discover paper chains on all the children's chairs. and Birch was inundated by elves EVERYWHERE! It has brought lots of joy and fun for the children and the spirit of Christmas is alive and well!

The children have been learning about length and perimeter in maths this week - they've done a great job of using their doubling and multiplication skills to find efficient methods to work out perimeter.

We were so impressed with the children's stories written from the point of view of Rosa Parks. They really got into character and used loads of fantastic similes and some excellent complex sentences. They have worked incredibly hard and made some excellent links with how important it is to use your voice for good, and how one person's voice can start a domino effect for change. This week we have enjoyed getting into a brand new story called Marcy and the Riddle of the Sphinx! Watch this space for more information to come!

In D&T this week, the children have been busy starting to build their prototype designs for alarm systems to protect the Rosetta Stone - they are looking forward to showing you some of these in our showcase on Monday 16th December.

Have a brilliant weekend everyone!
