Year 3 Weekly Highlights 26.4.24
As the saying goes ‘time flies when you are having fun!’ and this week truly has flown by as we have delved deeper into our new topic!
We started the week by exploring the moment Lucy first discovered the wardrobe and stepped inside, from our key text - The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. We focused on our use of specific verb choices, senses and use of ing words as sentence starters to describe the scene and have ended the week with thoughtful and carefully crafted descriptions!
Meanwhile, we have reflected on the key events of chapter 1 from our Iron Man text, summarising the key points and reflecting on the author’s language choices. Looking forward, the events of chapter 1 will inspire our stop film animations!
In art, we used our grounds to collect natural artefacts and developed our mark making and sketching skills in the style of our focus artist - Paul Merrick.
To end the week, we used light sensitive paper to investigate UV light in our Science learning and discuss how we can protect our body and eyes in the coming months. Thank you to all who brought in sunglasses to support our class and partner investigations.
We wish everyone a lovely weekend!
