Year 3 Weekly Highlights 22.3.24
The Year 3 team's favourite highlight from this week was being greeted good morning by several Year 3 children in Makaton! We have all thoroughly enjoyed exploring our personal strengths and superpowers through our Neurodiversity week celebrations. In our PDL learning and Wellbeing Wednesday time, we developed our knowledge of our different emotions and worked in classes to group a range of emotions into the four zones of regulation. We look forward to continuing the Neurodiversity conversation in the Summer Term!
This week has seen the shift in our fractions unit, by moving on to the second part of our learning journey - adding and subtracting fractions. We are continuing to use bar models and part whole models as a way of explaining our reasoning when solving problems.
After researching dragon fruit through our guided reading, we couldn't resist looking inside the fruit and taste testing them! Next week, we will bring our reading unit to an end when we share our book reviews with our author, Andy Shepherd! We know lots of Year 3 have enjoyed the book and are currently working their way through The Boy Who... series!
Next week is another exciting week with 3H and 3R moving into their new classrooms! The team will be busy over the holidays to make sure they are ready for our new learning project!
Ahead of our trip on Monday, we have shared a social story for all children and posted this on Google Classroom should you need it over the weekend.
We wish everyone a lovely weekend,
The Year 3 Team
