Year 4 Weekly Highlights 2.2.24
This week has been a really varied one in Year Four.
The teaching team started the week with a day working on our first project for the new curriculum. We don't want to give too much away yet but it will be very exciting, involve some fabulous books and include studying some very inspirational people.
We really enjoyed our RE trip on Wednesday. The children's behaviour was fantastic. They were extremely calm, respectful and curious. As soon as we arrived, we observed the arti (worship), then had an opportunity to have a closer look at all of the different parts of the mandir. These included murtis (statues of deities), paintings and many types of colourful decoration. Afterwards, the priest talked to the children about Hinduism in a broader sense, to enrich their knowledge further. From a music subject lead perspective, Mrs Nurdin particularly enjoyed the singing and drumming and knows that lots of the children did too!
Maths has been very practical this week. Did you know that using lolly sticks is really useful in helping to understand the concept of division with remainders? Ask your child to explain how!
In English, we wrapped up our Marcy unit and started a new, exciting unit all about the wonders of the ocean. All of the Year Four adults have noticed that the children have made a lot of progress in their writing so far this term.
Have a fabulous weekend,
