Year 3 Weekly Highlights 3.11.23
It has been lovely to welcome Year 3 back after the half-term break.
It all got off to a great start with our Halloween dress down day - we were all blown away by the spooky characters that entered our classrooms for the day!
We have also been very impressed with the children's curious approach to our new learning on the Stone Age. We have begun to explore the features of this period in History and taken on the role of a historian by analysing sources and artefacts.
In English, we have started our learning journey using The Stone Age Boy text. This week has been full of drama, hot seating and the use of our senses as we step into the boy's shoes and begin to explore the new camp he has been welcomed to.
In Science, we have begun our rocks and soils unit by classifying rocks based on their properties. We were all pleased to see the children drawing on our new vocabulary alongside what they already knew about different rocks.
We are looking forward to our Stone Age trips and beginning our art unit next week!
We hope everyone has a great weekend,
The Year 3 Team
