Year 6 Weekly Highlights 6.10.23
Year 6 have had an action-packed week this week continuing all of our exciting learning journeys!
Completing our unit on addition and subtraction, we have explored how to problem solve using decimals and when it is most efficient to apply a formal method.
In English, the children are itching to get started on writing their non-chronological reports, but not before we have learnt the skills of writing topic sentences to introduce paragraphs and the correct use of parenthesis to add detail.
Alongside this, we have got out and about surveying the environmental conditions of areas of our school to determine the safety if we were to suddenly find a volcano on site! Our dance teacher this week also developed our freestyle dance moves using the power and destruction a volcanic eruption can bring.
Don’t forget to keep reading and practising spellings over the weekend.
