Year 3 Weekly Highlights 30.6.23
What an exciting start to the week with the children meeting their new classmates and teachers. We have loved hearing how the children got on and how excited they are about starting in September. We have been looking at a book called 'Packs' with the theme of being "stronger together". Understandably, there will still be some nerves about the transition and there is another opportunity on Wednesday 12th July to meet with their new classes again.
On Monday 10th July, we welcome you to join us in school to see your children's work in their year 3 classrooms but also to meet their year 4 teacher. We hope to see many of you there.
Our final reminder is about Sports Day the Friday. Year 3 will be out for the first session: please do check your emails where you will find all the necessary information. If you have not received anything, please contact the admin team.
In English this week, we have started looking at weather poetry - gathering ideas and reading some aloud. Net week we will start to write our own Kenning poem about sun or rain.
In maths, we finished our work on space and the children loved making 3D shapes out of marshmallows and cocktail sticks (thanks Mrs Crockett for planning such a fun lesson!). We have also recapped some of our time learning.
We had a wonderful time in PE and Games - continuing to learn some dance moves from Intergr8 as well as some sport day practise. We witness the children giving their all in the run-off for sprint & relay races and it was incredible to watch. They would cheer the other children, regardless of the house they were in and were superb at deciding what to do - well done year 3.
Wishing you a wonderful, restful weekend.
