Year 6 Weekly Highlights 3.3.23
Year 6 has been a great week!!!
In maths, we have been learning fractions!
This included learning about mix number fractions, improper fraction and converting and simplifying fractions. We have also done a reasoning maths paper, and we will be doing mocks next week.
In English, we have been learning about The Spider and the Fly. We have been re-writing some of the story by adding some dialogue to the text. Also, we have been looking at adverbs, adjectives and nouns again to help us in the SPAG SATS paper.
In science, we have been looking at the circulation system in the human body! We have learnt how the heart pumps blood around the body! Did you know a heart has 4 chambers? As well, we have been looking at different blood cells and blood types.
On Thursday, we started geography and learnt hat our new unit is all about Nepal. We started with a game of 'Can you find....'
Hope you have a great weekend!!

What an incredible experience Y6 had on Friday. We were able to climb Everest, taking in a 360 degree view from the key parts of the mountain. We were able to see what it was like from some of the key areas that we have learnt about whilst reading Everest. This included the Khumbu icefall, South Col and, of course, the summit. It was amazing to be able to take in these sights and understand what it is like there. On one part we were looking down from the Hilary suspension bridge. I think the pictures from the session say it all and how unbelievable this was for us all to experiences.
