Year 6 Weekly Highlights 20.10.22
In English this week we have been learning about poetry tools and learning, including the building blocks of what makes a poem. Soon after we also wrote our own poem in style of Shakespeare's Song of the witches.
In Maths, we learnt about dividing and timesing by 10,100 and 1000. We learnt about prime numbers, square numbers and cubed numbers and which factors of the number are prime or not.
In Reading, we wrote our recount based on the viewer from the start to the end. Where Tristan -the boy - gets sucked into the viewer. We compared the pictures of the first and final disk about why the pictures are creepy and eerie.
This week we did Science again and did an experiment based on whether flat, smooth surfaces reflect light more than rough surfaces. In the end our conclusions were that a surface with more scrunched scatter more light than flat surfaces, meaning the image reflected is not clear.
In Geography, we were finishing our topic of earthquakes and volcanoes, and we answered the question ‘Are volcanoes more dangerous than earthquakes? ’ Most people said that volcanoes are more dangerous than earthquakes. What do you think ?
