Another action packed week in year 3! 

The children were amazing when we went on our trip around our local area and we were so proud of all of them. We visited the Rec, skatepark and the shops (sadly, there was no time to stop for cake!). 

The children have already shared so many highlights - Emily F said “I loved every bit of it!” 

Eliza also shared: “we had to complete booklets - I enjoyed doing these. We had to put in what we saw, heard, felt and could do in lots of different places.” This trip will not only help our geography work but also our next writing unit - a flyer informing children who are new to Chandlers Ford. A huge thank you again to the parent helpers who volunteered their time, we hope you enjoyed it too. 

As a school, we are incredibly passionate about reading. Please feel free to pop into our school library which is open on Friday until 4pm. Please enter the school via the office. 

We are coming to the end of our Fables unit in English and this week, the children have been looking at re-writing the story of the tortoise and the hare. This will be a wonderful piece of work to share with you on parents evening in the last week of term. Some of the children in 3BC have shared their work with Miss Loosemore who was so excited to see how hard year 3 have been working. 

In  maths, we have moved on to addition and subtraction. Our focus has been on mental methods of addition including doubles and near doubles. 

We have continued to create our own Mr Men and Little Miss characters based on our learning skills in Art. The children have loved this unit - a huge thank you to Mrs Carroll (who is also the school’s art leader) for all her hard work on this unit.
